Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Karma ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the App. By using Karma, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the App:
- Account information. When you sign up, we store your email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and, where you allow it, your email address, so we can create and secure your account.
- Usage & app analytics. We collect anonymous, aggregated events such as which stories are played, playback errors, and screen views. These events are tied to a random session identifier, not to your identity, and are used only to improve the App.
- Subscription status. Purchases are processed by Apple. We receive your subscription/entitlement status (active or not) but never your card or payment details.
- Device & technical data. App version and platform (iOS/Android), used for diagnostics.
- Notifications (optional). If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token so we can send you updates. You can turn this off anytime.
We do not: sell your data, use advertising trackers, collect the device advertising identifier (IDFA), or track you across other apps or websites.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and secure your account and provide access to content.
- To play, download, and remember your progress and favorites.
- To operate subscriptions and free trials.
- To understand aggregate usage and improve reliability and features.
- To send optional notifications you have opted into.
3. Data Storage & Processors
The App uses trusted third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and audio storage (hosted in the EU).
- Apple — subscription processing and Sign in with Apple.
- Google — Sign in with Google (only if you choose it).
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
4. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Anonymous analytics events are retained in aggregate. When you delete your account (see below), your personal data is removed.
5. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You can delete your account and its associated personal data at any time directly in the App: Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile from our systems. You may also contact us to request access to or deletion of your data.
6. Children
Karma is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
