Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Karma ("the App", "we", "us")
collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the App. By using
Karma, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the App:
- Account information. When you sign up, we store your email
address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and,
where you allow it, your email address, so we can create and secure your account.
- Optional usage & app analytics. Anonymous analytics are
disabled by default. If you enable them in Settings, we collect events such as
which stories are played, playback errors, and paywall views. Events use a random
app-session identifier and are not linked to your account. You can disable analytics
at any time; doing so removes the identifier stored on your device.
- Subscription status. Purchases are processed by Apple and
managed through RevenueCat. We receive a customer identifier, purchase history,
product, and subscription/entitlement status, but never your card or payment details.
- Device & technical data. App version and platform (iOS/Android),
used for diagnostics.
- Notifications (optional). If enabled, the App schedules a
reminder locally on your device. We do not currently store a device push token.
We do not: sell your data, use
advertising trackers, collect the device advertising identifier (IDFA), or track you
across other apps or websites.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and secure your account and provide access to content.
- To play, download, and remember your progress and favorites.
- To operate subscriptions and free trials.
- To understand aggregate usage and improve reliability and features.
- To send optional notifications you have opted into.
3. Data Storage & Processors
The App uses trusted third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and audio storage (hosted in the EU).
- Apple — subscription processing and Sign in with Apple.
- RevenueCat — subscription entitlement and purchase management.
- Google — Sign in with Google (only if you choose it).
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
4. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Optional anonymous
analytics events may be retained in aggregate because they are not linked to your
account. When you delete your account (see below), your personal data is removed from
Supabase and a deletion request is sent to RevenueCat.
5. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You can delete your account and its associated personal data at any time directly
in the App: Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your
profile from our systems. You may also contact us to request access to or deletion of
your data. Deleting your Karma account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage
or cancel Apple billing first from Apple Subscriptions
if you do not want it to renew.
6. Children
Karma is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by
updating the "Last updated" date above.
